COVID-19 Mitigation and Management Task Force meeting is available
CARSON CITY, NV — The Nevada COVID-19 Mitigation and Management Task Force met today and discussed updates from their respective agencies and departments.
There is significant improvement in the trends across all indicators. The State Biostatistician noted Nevada is continuing to see daily new cases decline and noted test positivity rates have been declining for the past five weeks. The State Biostatistician also noted there are declining trends in hospitalizations, ICU, and ventilator use.
As for the county tracker, there are only six counties that are flagged for elevated disease transmission. Clark, Elko, Eureka, Mineral, Nye and Pershing.
Of those counties that were flagged for elevated disease transmission: all except Eureka were flagged with a high case rate, all were flagged with a high-test positivity, and Elko and Eureka were flagged with a low average number of tests per day per 100,000.
The Department of Health and Human Services provided an update on the status of vaccinations in Nevada, specifically that the State’s vaccine rollout is on pace with the rest of the county. Nevada has vaccinated 13% of its population with at least one dose, which equals the national average.

The meetings are always streamed live on YouTube and the replay is available. More information about the task force can be found in the Nevada Health Response – COVID-19 Task Force page.
