Questions
How would you hold the media accountable for misinformation during times of a major crisis like the coronavirus? Without overstepping constitutional rights.
Coronavirus: There is a percentage of people who will never be checked for the virus, especially the homeless. With no unofficial way to quarantine them. Ideas on containing this part of the situation without violating any rights.
Coronavirus: Summary of the facts. What demographics are at risk for severe symptoms. By severe, I mean worse than a flu. Are we going too far with prevention? Is there a danger of local / state / federal governments taking too much control? I am referring to the National Guard in New Rochelle.
Gun Control: Background checks / limiting certain types of firearms / purchases is only one part of the solution. What are your ideas / plans for removing illegal guns off the streets?
Violence / Domestic violence: Reality, violence will never stop. Guns are the current method. Do we need to move from a reactionary society to prevention? I realize it is very difficult to prevent violence. Should more resources be allocated for areas like education, awareness, other outlets for anger / aggression? Including: the value of life.
Homeless: Providing housing is only a small part of the problem. People need employment to keep those houses and improve their lives. There is a percentage who choose to live on the streets. Ideas / plans for providing intelligent / lasting solutions for people who want a better life and off the streets? Do employers have incentives for hiring a homeless person who proves they want to work? Again, a certain percentage only want handouts and “free”.
Minimum Wage Increase: Are there benefits to an increase of at / near $15 an hour? Considering it could increase prices / force corporations to speed up / increase automation. Force small businesses to cease operation. More areas, especially warehousing / logistics have already increased starting wages. Would a gradual increase have any effect?
In General: How do you plan to convince the majority to agree with your ideas? How far are you willing to compromise? If elected, will you have representatives / volunteers on the street level reaching out to people. Including taking public transportation to find out what they really care about / want.
Abuse crosses all boundaries. You very rarely hear certain demographics even mentioning they are victims / survivors (men especially). Ideas on how to encourage everyone, who has legitimately been abused, to speak out. If the situation warrants, report to authorities. By legitimately, I mean where there is proof or enough circumstantial evidence for proof.
Equality / Discrimination: Everyone screams equality / equal rights when it is to their benefit. Yet, they show off how different they are. I realize individual identity is extremely important. Ideas / thoughts on achieving true equality? Examples: A certain group may want rights they already have. Point blank: some people do not care about sexual orientation / choice, gender, skin color. Until they are forced to see it and make a choice.
A percentage of the population is constantly ignored during elections and by politicians, especially the homeless / people living in hotels, etc. How do you plan to reach out to them both during your campaign and if elected?
Coronavirus: What safeguards are in place to prevent state / local governments from maintaining the level of control currently? Examples: limiting the number of people at gatherings / national guard / closing schools / etc. Especially since a lot of these things have been done voluntarily.
