You should know the exact names / numbers of candidates who have responded. The higher the level of government, there will be a minimum waiting period before a No response is logged. Example: Congressional candidates / 14 days minimum, Presidential candidates / 30 days minimum, local candidate 4 day minimum.
Why different wait periods? A few reasons:
1) The higher level of government: larger number of people / constituents. Plus, more media will be requesting various things including interviews.
2) Candidates / Staff will (hopefully), be looking at Surreal ValeCity to make sure it is a legitimate media outlet.
3) Candidates have a preference and should respond to their district first. Every attempt will be made to contact congressional candidates in as many states a possible.
