Wadsworth, OH-  BUSINESS FAIRNESS ACT WILL REPAIR DEWINE’S PATH OF DESTRUCTION ACCORDING TO JIM RENACCI, GOP CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR

“DeWine's lockdowns are the only reason we need legislation like this in the first place.”

The Business Fairness Act blocks the state from singling out small businesses for closure during public health emergencies, protecting them from what happened during Mike DeWine’s shutdown last year, which devastated Ohio’s economy and trafficked misery to every corner of the state.

Big retailers were deemed essential and allowed to stay open, while smaller retailers were forced to close. Jim Renacci says that would not have happened under his administration, which would have protected small business owners who are the backbone of Ohio’s economy.

“Mike DeWine destroyed Ohio’s economy when he prioritized big retailers like Walmart, and shut out local businesses, forcing some out of business. DeWine’s Draconian lockdowns were unfair and put thousands of Ohioans out of work.”

Renacci said the bill should include an apology from DeWine to small business owners and their employees.

“He should sign this bill along with an apology for destroying so many businesses and hurting so many Ohioans. It did not have to be this way.”
