STATEMENT: AFPI’S CHAIRMAN OF THE CENTER FOR A HEALTHY AMERICA, FORMER GOVERNOR BOBBY JINDAL, ON BIDEN ADMINISTRATION’S VACCINE MANDATE

Picture
“President Biden announced he would use the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to compel private companies to require their employees to be vaccinated. He did so without approval from Congress and without regard for state laws. Just because the media refuse to hold Biden accountable, he is not a king; there are limits on his powers.

It is ironic that the same liberals that say it would be racist to require voters to show an ID to vote now insist Americans must display their vaccine status to keep their jobs, enter a restaurant, or go to the gym.

All Americans – whether vaccinated or not – should reject Biden’s overreach and abuse of government power. Abusing government power will do nothing to respect and persuade those Americans skeptical about the merits of vaccinations.

Despite his promises to follow the science, Biden continues to politicize his administration’s response to COVID-19 and contradict his earlier commitments. Biden must have learned from his former boss. Just as President Obama was against the individual mandate before he was for it, Biden was against vaccine mandates before he was for them. Biden ignored his own CDC and FDA experts to prematurely announce his COVID-19 booster policy.

Biden should listen to Sen. Manchin, and take a pause. He prematurely declared near victory on July 4, and is desperate to claim “mission accomplished” so he can tax, borrow, and spend trillions of taxpayer dollars on his version of the Green New Deal."
