All Nevada counties now have endorsed plans to transition to local authority
CARSON CITY, NV — Today, the Nevada COVID-19 Mitigation and Management Task Force received the remaining plan to transition to local authority, endorsed by entities required under Directive 041.
The transition to local authority occurred on Saturday, May 1, 2021 for the 16 counties that had fully endorsed plans submitted to the task force. The final remaining county, Washoe, submitted their plan after adoption to the Washoe County Board of County Commissioners meeting, this morning. Local authority has now been granted to all 17 counties in Nevada.
The statewide mask mandate remains in place, but most other COVID-19 mitigation measures are now under the authority of the local governments in each county.
The full plans for all counties can be found of the Nevada Health Response – COVID-19 Task Force page.
