Nine new cases of COVID-19 reported in five Alaska communities
May 1, 2020 ANCHORAGE — The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) today announced nine new cases of COVID-19 in five communities: Anchorage (5), Eagle River (1), Homer (1), Anchor Point (1) and North Pole (1). This brings the total case count to 364. A total of 20,325 tests have been conducted.
This reflects data from 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on April 30 that posted at noon today on the DHSS Coronavirus Response AK COVID-19 Cases and Testing Dashboard.
Of the new cases, four are male and five are female. Five are aged 20-29; two are aged 50-59; one is aged 60-69; and one is aged 80+. There have been a total of 36 hospitalizations and nine deaths with no new hospitalizations or deaths reported yesterday. Recovered cases now total 254, including two new recovered cases recorded yesterday.
